0:00 I've only been here a few days and looking forward now to 0:04 just trying to meet people. 0:06 There seems to be a very strong culture of collaboration and 0:10 just support, so people have been really, really both friendly, 0:13 and helpful so far. 0:15 So we're here today at Cleveland which is part of the 0:18 Ramsar Protected Wetlands of Moreton Bay. 0:22 Today I'm here at the Port of Brisbane 0:24 on the land and waterways of the Turrbal people. 0:27 Hi, this is Bishop....I'm... This is, I am, right, okay. 0:32 Hi, I'm Bishop Tim. 0:34 And I'm here with you today so we can pray together. 0:38 So prayer was this integral part of Jesus' life and of the mission of Jesus. 0:44 So he's our kind of model of prayer. 0:47 But his relationship with God, 0:49 his Father, was at the core of all of this, at the very centre. 0:53 When we receive the love of a brother or sister, it is the presence of Jesus. 0:58 When we share that same love with a brother or sister 1:01 we help to make Jesus present. 1:04 As Christian people, 1:05 reconciliation is one of our primary tasks. 1:08 Anything we can do towards reconciliation 1:12 makes us better Christians wherever we are in the world. 1:16 Be careful if Jesus offers to make you see 1:18 because that inner sight of empathy and compassion 1:21 can be very costly. 1:23 But it will only make us better followers of Jesus. 1:27 I want to make a commitment to you. 1:29 There's a lot for me to learn 1:32 about the spirit of God in this place, 1:36 here in this Archdiocese. 1:39 And you are the ones to teach me. 1:42 I humbly ask that you take this task seriously 1:45 so that we can work together 1:48 in the great mission of God 1:50 in the joy of the Gospel. 1:54 Thanks for joining us today 1:55 and I hope to see you again soon.
