Hi, my name is Vanessa Comninos,
0:03
a project officer in the adult formation team
0:06
of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
0:10
The coming Jubilee Year
0:11
is an opportunity to renew and deepen our commitment to faith.
0:17
But, it’s also a call to actively live out our faith
0:21
with hope and purpose.
0:24
To be a pilgrim of hope
0:26
is to live with a faith
0:28
that looks beyond our current struggles
0:32
and finds God’s promise in each moment,
0:35
no matter how small.
0:37
This hope calls us to see the Risen Christ in the ordinary.
0:42
The warmth of a smile,
0:44
the strength shared between friends in difficult times,
0:48
and the quiet moments of reflection
0:50
that nourish our spirit.
0:53
It’s a journey that transforms us,
0:55
allowing us to find the light in the midst of darkness.
1:00
Through this lens,
1:02
hope becomes more than a feeling;
1:05
it’s an active choice to walk in faith,
1:08
embracing each day as an opportunity to encounter God
1:13
and to be His hands and feet in the world.
1:17
In choosing hope, we open up ourselves to see our lives
1:21
and the lives of others
1:23
as reflections of God’s enduring love and presence.
1:28
December’s prayer intention
1:29
invites us to reflect on how our faith
1:33
can genuinely inspire hope in others.
1:36
Sometimes, it’s as simple as
1:39
reaching out with a kind word to someone feeling down,
1:42
sitting quietly with someone who needs to be heard,
1:46
or offering a small act of help when it is needed.
1:51
Each of these small gestures
1:52
becomes a way to share hope
1:54
and let others feel Christ’s love through us.
2:00
As pilgrims on this journey,
2:02
we don’t walk alone;
2:04
we travel together,
2:06
finding strength and warmth in each other.
2:09
May this Jubilee Year
2:11
deepen our commitment to bring hope to the world!
2:15
Today we offer this prayer,
2:18
acknowledging the hope to which we have all been called.
2:22
Let us pray.
2:23
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
2:28
Loving Father,
2:29
we thank you for the gift of the Jubilee Year,
2:32
inspiring us to be people of hope
2:35
who do life and faith together.
2:38
May we recognise the moments
2:40
we are called to be Your hope to others
2:43
and may we too, in times of despair,
2:46
turn to you for comfort and healing.
2:49
We ask for Your blessing upon each of us
2:52
as we begin the pilgrimage of the heart.
2:55
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
