Show Notes

Over 5,000 Catholics processed through the streets of Brisbane in the Corpus Christi celebration, honouring Jesus truly present in the Eucharist. This year’s procession was especially meaningful, as Archbishop Mark Coleridge led the celebration for the final time. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who organised and participated in this beautiful witness of faith and devotion to our Eucharistic Lord.

00:00:28,969 I'm walking with Jesus, 16 00:00:28,969 --> 00:00:30,065 yeah, that's how I'm feeling. 17 00:00:30,240 --> 00:00:32,131 I think it's really good and really nice 18 00:00:32,131 --> 00:00:34,400 and I think it's a great proclamation for our faith. 19 00:00:34,699 --> 00:00:36,437 And just to pray and 20 00:00:36,437 --> 00:00:39,895 for all those that don't have God in their lives yet and just 21 00:00:39,895 --> 00:00:41,559 give them a hunger for Jesus. 22 00:00:41,920 --> 00:00:43,604 This is very important because 23 00:00:43,604 --> 00:00:46,129 Jesus comes to us as a Saviour. 24 00:00:46,624 --> 00:00:49,832 He gave the body to be one community. 25 00:00:50,069 --> 00:00:51,949 Christ is the King, which is Corpus Christi. 26 00:00:52,454 --> 00:00:53,426 You got to like, 27 00:00:53,426 --> 00:00:54,497 realise Jesus is the King, 28 00:00:54,497 --> 00:00:56,633 you come here to worship that, His Kingship. 29 00:00:56,901 --> 00:00:59,835 I just think it's such an incredible proclamation of faith. 30 00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:03,000 We believe in the presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity 31 00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:05,499 of our Lord Jesus Christ and 32 00:01:05,499 --> 00:01:07,166 He's the source of life and 33 00:01:07,166 --> 00:01:09,433 He's always waiting for us in the tabernacle. 34 00:01:09,783 --> 00:01:12,805 He came down to us with such humility and 35 00:01:12,805 --> 00:01:15,520 we should never forget Him, that He's always there for us in the Church. 36 00:01:15,520 --> 00:01:17,293 We need to send that out in the city. 37 00:01:17,520 --> 00:01:20,872 It's such a honour and I always feel so proud of my faith 38 00:01:20,872 --> 00:01:22,682 when we do this every year, I look forward to it. 39 00:01:23,074 --> 00:01:25,276 It is wonderful because I took part in Rome 40 00:01:25,276 --> 00:01:27,792 in the Corpus Christi procession in Rome 41 00:01:27,792 --> 00:01:30,748 with the Holy Father in 2016. 42 00:01:30,748 --> 00:01:33,167 So it's nice to know that it's happening all over the world. 43 00:01:33,332 --> 00:01:36,000 The Eucharist is the treasure of the Church, 44 00:01:36,000 --> 00:01:38,018 it's Jesus real in our lives. 45 00:01:38,400 --> 00:01:41,713 The Corpus Christ procession has this, 46 00:01:41,713 --> 00:01:43,892 this meaning to show to the world Jesus. 47 00:01:44,160 --> 00:01:46,636 And this is really important that 48 00:01:46,636 --> 00:01:49,058 more people can come and enjoy with us. 49 00:01:49,440 --> 00:01:51,280 It's our pathway to Heaven. 50 00:01:51,683 --> 00:01:53,877 It's a fantastic Feast to be a part of. 51 00:01:54,320 --> 00:01:57,995 It's great to do the walk around the city, it's fantastic I feel. 52 00:01:58,222 --> 00:02:01,466 It's so rich in everything, in every which way 53 00:02:01,466 --> 00:02:03,213 as far as our Christian journey. 54 00:02:03,564 --> 00:02:04,658 I'm overwhelmed with it. 55 00:02:05,040 --> 00:02:08,073 It's really powerful the way that we're able to witness 56 00:02:08,073 --> 00:02:10,586 our faith but also testifying that 57 00:02:10,586 --> 00:02:12,478 Jesus is real and in the Eucharist. 58 00:02:12,478 --> 00:02:15,152 It's just amazing to think that every time we go to Mass 59 00:02:15,152 --> 00:02:18,000 we get Jesus for real, you know, not just 60 00:02:18,000 --> 00:02:20,080 as a symbol, but, you know, He's really there. 61 00:02:20,400 --> 00:02:22,349 So yeah, to me that's very special. 62 00:02:23,061 --> 00:02:25,484 I would say it's the cornerstone 63 00:02:25,484 --> 00:02:28,240 that we can worship the Blessed Sacrament, 64 00:02:28,240 --> 00:02:29,566 worship our God 65 00:02:29,566 --> 00:02:33,734 and that young people, especially young men and women who are feeling that calling 66 00:02:33,734 --> 00:02:35,267 that they see they're not alone. 67 00:02:35,525 --> 00:02:37,187 So in terms of my own vocational calling, 68 00:02:37,187 --> 00:02:39,360 I'd say it's built off a community, 69 00:02:39,360 --> 00:02:40,583 it's built within a community. 70 00:02:40,800 --> 00:02:43,339 That strengthens me, that makes me want to 71 00:02:43,339 --> 00:02:45,928 completely devote my life to serving these people as well. 72 00:02:46,382 --> 00:02:48,914 I'm proud to be Catholic and I want to show that. 73 00:02:49,357 --> 00:02:52,500 You know, I want to show everyone that I'm a Catholic 74 00:02:52,500 --> 00:02:55,825 and I believe in the Body and Blood of Christ. 75 00:02:56,402 --> 00:02:57,760 It actually felt like super beautiful, 76 00:02:57,760 --> 00:03:01,233 I was talking to my friend she and I were talking about how it reminds us like 77 00:03:01,233 --> 00:03:03,888 of our future, God willing, our future life in heaven. 78 00:03:04,084 --> 00:03:07,499 When we were praying like the Rosary like the wind was moving in such a 79 00:03:07,499 --> 00:03:10,613 very spiritual way that it can only be 80 00:03:10,613 --> 00:03:12,868 God, I can only explain it as God. 81 00:03:13,373 --> 00:03:15,884 It surpassed everything that I was going to expect. 82 00:03:16,080 --> 00:03:17,890 So I'm so grateful, 83 00:03:17,890 --> 00:03:18,954 I would love to come again. 84 00:03:19,305 --> 00:03:21,378 We love Jesus!
