0:00 Hello, my name is Jim O’Brien, 0:02 Senior Safeguarding Advisor with the Office for Safeguarding Services. 0:06 As we gather in prayer today, 0:08 we turn our hearts towards the protection and care 0:11 of our elderly community members. 0:14 In a world where vulnerability can often go unnoticed, 0:17 we are called to safeguard the dignity and wellbeing of those 0:21 who have walked before us. 0:23 Let this prayer remind us 0:25 of our duty to embrace the elderly 0:26 with kindness and respect, 0:29 and to be vigilant in ensuring their safety, 0:32 honouring their love and wisdom 0:34 they have shared with us throughout their lives. 0:38 Let’s Pray. 0:40 Lord Jesus, 0:41 may we welcome the kingdom of God anew 0:43 into our hearts and lives 0:45 embracing discipleship and openness to others. 0:49 You call us to walk with integrity 0:51 in the service of others. 0:54 May our service be filled with kindness, 0:56 and respect for all God’s people. 0:59 Giving special protection to children 1:01 and the vulnerable. 1:04 May we seek the truth, 1:06 listen to those wounded by abuse 1:08 and choose to act with compassion and justice. 1:12 Give us the strength, to walk humbly and faithfully, 1:14 and to love one another 1:16 as we are so loved by You. 1:19 Amen. 1:21 Let us be reminded of the call to actively protect and support our elderly. 1:26 The wisdom of age is a gift from God, 1:28 and it is our responsibility to ensure 1:30 that those who are older live free from harm 1:33 and in an environment of love and safety.
